Shyam wanted to propose to his lovely girlfriend Vanita. He wanted the proposal to be romantic, but also have the element of surprise in it. We decided that for Shyam a personalised umbrella proposal would be the ideal way to pop the question! We arranged for the proposal to take place in front of Horse Guards Parade, not only because it is such an iconic location, but also so Shyam could take Vanita on a romantic walk through St James’ Park before proposing. On the day of the proposal we met up with 15 of our amazing helpers and gave each of them an umbrella which we had painted individual letters on. After getting into position we put the final touches to the proposal in place, and created a heart in front of the helpers using long stemmed red roses
After leading Vanita through the park Shyam took her hand and led her towards Horse Guards Parade. Vanita thought that they were going for drinks to celebrate their anniversary, she had no idea what Shyam actually had in store! Vanita looked very confused as he led her into the centre of the heart and told her to look at the line of people holding red umbrellas next to them.
As she turned, all at once, the helpers opened their umbrella’s and the words ‘Will You Marry Me?’ appeared!
Vanita was delighted, and even more so when Shyam then got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife!
Of course, SHE SAID YES!
